Late 19th or early 20th century Kazak runner. A really beautiful antique with great design including traditional zoomorphic motifs and small birds, animals and flowers in clear, strong colours.
This special rug has been mended by a previous owner and again by us, with patches to the verso to mend splits. It is now looking its very best again - recommended either for a contemporary light interior where it would ground the space or for a dark traditional interior where it would bring vibrancy and light.
Thin pile with some corrosion to the base and patches to the verso. Some loss to ends and edges.
Underlay recommended.
