An early twentieth century Baluch prayer rug from Khorasan in northeast Persia.
Camel mihrab with centre stylized tree of life flanked by pairs of bird motifs repeated in the terracotta guards. Flowerheads in the prayer arch and in the top spandrels. Dark blue rosette main border.
Overall even wear with corrosion to dark browns but good condition for its age.
